To respond to globalization, technological changes, and contemporary design trends, this program actively creates design professionals with inter-disciplinary integration capabilities, independent thinking, and international mobility capabilities, looking forward to expressing their advantages of cultural characteristics and achieving excellent integration with the world. The first two years of this program are taught at CYCU, and the following two years will be taught at Oxford Brookes University in the United Kingdom. The courses are taught collaboratively by the professors from these two universities.  At the time of graduation, students will obtain the Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and Urban Design from CYCU, as well as the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Part-1 qualification (architecture design module) or RTPI certification (urban design module) from OBU.

The program combines full academic and studying resources from the Departments of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, and Commercial Design in the system of the School of Design to provide interdisciplinary design studies. In the first half period of studies, the goal is to enrich fundamental knowledge of professions and improve foreign language ability in communication and application in terms of overcoming the barriers of international study. The students will spend the second half of their studies in the UK and Europe. Through the training of professional courses and practical participation in the two schools, students will establish their professional ability in design and planning and will be fully supported by CYCU’s future career service and counseling mechanism. Whether students choose to work or continue their studies, they can achieve professional standards and are expected to be internationally competitive.
