PHD students were awarded membership of the 8th International Business Honor Society Beta Gama Sigma (BGS)

The College of Business (COB), Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) held the 8th Beta Gama Sigma (BGS) Chung Yuan Chapter Recognition Ceremony on April 10, 2024. Dean of the COB, Prof. Dr. Cheng-Wen LEE, led all members to proclaim the BGS oath and awarded honorary membership certificates.

BGS was founded in 1913, which is the international business honor society for AACSB-accredited schools, which are the top 5% of business school programs around the world. The BGS Chung Yuan Chapter was officially established in September 2016. The mission of BGS is to encourage and praise business academic achievements, cultivate members’ leadership and professional abilities, thereby enhancing the value of the BGS organization and serving BGS’s lifelong members.

Since 2017, a total of 21 doctoral students from our program have been elected as honorary members. Among them, 10 are the 8th BGS honorary members, namely CHOONG LENG PENG (Malaysia), HSIAO CHUAN CHEN, HUNG-EN KAO, SHAN SHAN LI, WEN CHUAN WU, FU-YING CHEN, and AILEEN RACHELLE AURELIO RABAGO (Philippines), PATRICK A. MENDY (Gambia), MUH. IRFANDY AZIS (Indonesia) and BUDI HASYIM (Indonesia). The Chung Yuan Chapter determines whether students are eligible for honorary membership based on their academic performance. Doctoral students who are Ph.D. candidates are eligible for the membership.

Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) has been recognized as the winner of Beta Gamma Sigma’s 2024 Silver Outstanding Chapter Award. The CYCU BGS Chung Yuan chapter was selected as the winner of this award out of more than 630 global chapters, found in AACSB-accredited schools in 38 countries.
